Butterfly Garden Quilt Block Pattern
Spring can never come soon enough. Until it arrives, this pretty paper pieced Butterfly Garden block is bound to cheer you up. The finished block is 12" x 12" and the paper piece butterfly center block measures 7" x 7" when finished.
Christmas Cactus Quilted Table Toppers
I first introduced this pattern this past summer and finally finished it. I really wanted to have it done before Christmas but other commitments took up a lot of my time during the holidays. The nice thing about this pattern is that it can be used year round because it's not too Christmassy.
These stunning quilted table toppers were inspired by the Christmas Cactus that blooms throughout the Christmas season. The pattern includes instructions for both versions shown below. Finished size for both versions is 26" x 26" (65cm x 65cm) and the finished block size is 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm). This table topper fits perfectly on a standard 42" round table.

Red Cardinal Mug Rug
This pretty Red Cardinal rug mug is quick to make and would be a great Christmas gift for the bird lover in your life. I love birds and came up with this quick little project for the holiday season. It measures 7" x 10" and the Red Cardinal block is 7"x 7". Combine it with a cute holiday mug and a packet of hot cocoa mix for a Hostess gift.
Christmas Cactus Table Toppers.
This pattern was inspired by the Christmas Cactus which got its name because it starts blooming during the early winter, just in time for Christmas.
The blocks are simple foundation piecing. The pattern includes yardage and assembly instructions for both Versions 1 and 2. Finished measurements for both versions: 26" x 26" (65cm x 65cm).

Oh Canada Flag Banner
You can hang this beautiful paper pieced Canadian flag banner with pride. I'm Canadian born and raised and I truly love this country. I also think we have a very cool modern flag design; a simple maple leaf.
On July 1st, 2017, Canada turns 150 years young. I decided to make a Canadian flag banner to hang in the front window this year instead of using the one everyone gets in the morning paper.
The maple leaf in the center of the flag is a perfect design for foundation piecing. After some tweaking here and there, I finally got everything right. This block is 25 cm x 25 cm (10" x 10"). It can be reduced or enlarged to incorporate into pretty much anything: a throw pillow, a tote bag, or anything you want to cover with Canada's national symbol.
Another reason to love Canada . . . check out our Prime Minister.😛
Krazy Kites Quilt Block
This fun kites quilt block is a great stash buster for all those pretty scraps you've been hanging on to. For good contrast, I used multiple creams and beige scraps for the background, which makes the colours really pop. I like the block without embellishing, but if you like to embroider, you can add tails.
Pencil Me In Mini Quilt
This pencil quilt wall hanging would look great in an office or a student's dorm room. The script fabric in the background adds a touch of whimsy, and how cool are those sharp pencil tips? This is a great project for Jelly Roll scraps. The lovely script fabric I used for the background is Laurel White Vintage from Bee Creative by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics.
Ice Cream Swirl Mug Rug
WHO WANTS ICE CREAM?!
My Ice Cream Swirl mug rug is a simple foundation pieced pattern. You can create it in your favourite ice cream flavours. The block is 7" x 7" (15cm x 15cm) and the mug rug is 7" x 10" (15cm x 25cm). Make nine blocks in different flavours for a cute mini quilt like the one below.Autumn Star Quilt Block - FREE Download
Designed for the beautiful colours of autumn, the Autumn Star quilt block is stunning. I created my sample using batik and hand-dyed fabrics. This block would be nice in any fabric, but I really like it with batiks.
A Little Crazy Mug Rug: Free Pattern
Pattern includes instructions for how to do a fussy cut, with template included, and how to cut foundation fabric pieces accurately.
The print fabrics I used are from the Garden Party collection by Tea & Sympathy. The yellow fabric is Henna Mustard Seed from the Eden collection by Tula Pink.
TEEPEE TRAILS Quilted Placemats
For me, the teepee is a symbol of home and especially being at home with nature. I paid homage to the humble teepee with my new placemat pattern, Teepee Trails. The pattern comes with yardage for two and four placemats. This foundation pieced project is simple to make for a beginner and a quick project for the seasoned pro.
Blue Frost Quilt Block Pattern
The cold Canadian winters can be trying, but they can also beautiful. When conditions are right, ice crystals form on the tree branches (called hoar frost) and it's a sight to see; it's truly magical. And in the sunlight, the snow takes on a gorgeous blue cast.
My favourite thing about this block is that it's Jelly Roll friendly. The strips required are 2-1/2 inches wide. So, if you have any Jelly Roll scraps hanging around, this could be the block for you. It's quick to make and a great project for quilters new to foundation paper piecing.

Wonky Beach House Mug Rug
Wow! Mug rugs are just flying out of my studio these days. I have them all over the house and my husband is still not sure what the heck they are, ha! I love this Wonky Beach House mug rug and the striped "ticking" fabric gives it a very casual "beachy" feel.

Crazy quilt pillows with video tutorial
I made these crazy quilt block pillows for our couch, and they really inject a bit of character into the room. I love crazy quilts but lack the patience and time for all that embroidery. So, now I use the fancy stitches on my sewing machine instead. My little Singer has the best decorative stitches, so I use that machine for crazy quilt blocks.
Below is a great tutorial by Fons & Porter for creating crazy blocks. (FYI: The quilt in the left background inspired my denim scrap quilt beach blanket.)
